Should I bring my dog?
We know many members of the BREATHE community share deep bonds with their animal companions. At the same time, festivals can be intense environments for dogs. Loud music, large crowds, unfamiliar smells, heat, and long days can create stress or overwhelm for even the most well-behaved animals.
Before deciding to bring your dog, we invite you to thoughtfully consider whether the festival environment will truly be comfortable and safe for them.
For many dogs, the kindest choice is to leave them at home where they can rest in a familiar and calm environment.
Your dog may enjoy BREATHE if they are:
-
Calm and well-socialized around large groups of people
-
Comfortable around music and amplified sound
-
Able to remain relaxed on leash for long periods of time
-
Accustomed to camping environments
-
Friendly with other dogs and strangers
Your dog may be happier staying at home if they:
-
Are sensitive to loud sounds or crowds
-
Become anxious in unfamiliar environments
-
Have difficulty staying calm on leash
-
Are reactive to other animals or people
-
Are young, elderly, or sensitive to heat
Our goal is to create a peaceful and safe environment for both the BREATHE community and the animals who join us. In many cases, the kindest choice for your dog is to leave them in a familiar environment where they can relax.
If you do decide to bring your dog, please ensure you review and follow the full Dog Owner’s Policy and come prepared to care for them responsibly throughout the event.
