What is a BREATHE Committee?
BREATHE is a purpose driven festival created by you, for you. To make it easier to co-create with your community, BREATHE has established committees for BREATHERS to participate in. Each committee will contain around 3 – 6 BREATHERS. The committees enable groups of BREATHERS to dream, create and facilitate different activities and experiences that are of deep interest to them, and are aligned with the festival’s mission, vision, and values.
How Does the Committee Function?
Each Committee has:
-
Approx. 3 – 6 members
-
1 Director or 2 Co-Directors
-
1 Executive Director Observer
Committees will identify their objectives during the early months of the year and will work with their directors to review these activities and assign a working budget.
Committees will meet online or in-person 1-2 times per month leading up to the festival. These are intended to be led by the committee, with the executive director acting as support and guidance where needed. It’s your space to create!
At the festival, each committee will have the responsibility to set-up, manage and pack away their focus area. This is the time to see your hard work in play!
What do I get from Joining a BREATHE Committee?
A committee member is considered part of the BREATHE Crew. Your hard work is recognized through a Free Ticket to the Breathe Festival. In addition, you will gain:
-
An opportunity to bring your visions and intentions to life
-
The chance to shine light on your skill-sets within the BREATHE community
-
The freedom to co-create a segment of BREATHE with like minded BREATHERS
-
The experience of a leadership role within your community
-
The ability to learn about running a community-centric business
Your hard work with BREATHE will not go unnoticed. We will help you to publicize your personal and professional evolution by connecting you to our formal LinkedIn leadership profile, providing employment references and by assisting you in updating your resume.
What Should I Be Prepared to Bring to a Committee?
-
Creativity and problem solving
-
Teamwork and collaboration
-
Activity tracking and documentation
-
Site set-up and breakdown
-
A bitch’n attitude
You can expect your committee time to be approx. 4-10 hrs per month (depending on your committee’s activity requirements), as well as your presence at the BREATHE festival ensuring your committee is hitting on all cylinders watching your dream plan come to life!
How do I Apply to a Committee?
It’s simple! Fill out the Committee Application Form:
If you can’t choose between committees, not a problem! Simply fill out one form for each committee you’re interested in (just please limit your applications to 3 in total). So you don’t feel overwhelmed and overloaded, we’ll limit one functional committee role per BREATHER. We don’t want BREATHE to burn you out!

Below are committees that we will be accepting applications for. After submission of your application we will contact you within 2-3 weeks. Before submitting your application please be mindful of the commitment and dedication that comes with joining a BREATHE committee.
